Frog

Today, we took my grandparents to the airport because they came up for like a month from NSW. So anyway, their flight was supposed to be at 8.20am for a 8.40am departure, so we got up at like 5.30 so that we could leave at like 6.00 so we would have plenty of time when we got there before the flight. So we got there around 7.00, maybe 7.10am. All was well. We got upstairs and had a coffee and something to eat and all that, then along comes 8.20, and there went 8.20...and my grandparents weren't on the plane, we didn't even hear a boarding call...(we being me, my mum, my dad and johnny...and my nana and pop), anyway. We hear this announcement saying that there has been some engineering problems with the plane and the new expected departure time for their flight would be 9.20...an hour delay. This is a worry that the plane had engineering problems because it just landed a flight from Sydney...So anyway! We were sitting around...along comes 9.20....there went 9.20, we recieved another announcement saying that the plane still isn't fixed, so the NEW expected departure time was around 10.30am. Holy crap! So we sat around and ate some more and had some more to drink...along comes 10.30...there goes 10.30, we hear yet ANOTHER announcement saying that there's still problems with the plane, the new boarding/departure time would be approximately 11.15. Oh. My. God. So anway, we bought some chocolate frogs because it was a joke from the night before...
This is what happened last night, which made green frogs funny...So BJ, my younger brother had this dinner thing for his year 12 hospitality assessment where the 13 kids in his class had to cater a 3 course meal for 4 guests each and some teachers and staff at his school, so BJ invited me, dad, mum and nana. Jackson wasn't home last night and Johnny was at his home, so we had to leave Pop at home, alone with the dogs, so all was good because Pop loves the dogs. Anyway, the dinner went fabulously, and afterwards, mum and I went to the RSL and played the Pokies while BJ and his class were cleaning up at the school, becuase the school is only a 2 minute drive from the RSL, and nana and dad stayed at the school, anyway! Just as me and mum were about to leave the RSL, she decided to get some cash out of the ATM, so I stood out of the way as she did that, and there was a crap load of people there because yesterday was Ladies Oaks Day, which is a horse race in caloundra which is really fancy and the Potbelleez were performing and whatever, so everyone went to the RSL afterwards to get super drunk. Anyway! I was standing watching people be drunk, minding my own business, and this guy was walking past me so I smiled at him, and he goes and smacked my bum, ahaha. It was so funny! Anyway...again! So me and mum went and got nana, dad and bj, and we went home. So we got home and were all doing our own thing and mum goes "uh oh!" and we were all like what! And we went out to the fire place and there's a blanket in a heap on the floor and a fluro pink note on top of it that said "Dead frog under blanket"...now apparantly while we were out, Pop left the back door open, so a green tree frog decided to wander into the house and die, so when pop discovered it, I have no idea if he killed it or whatever, but when it was dead, he popped a blanket over it so that the dogs wouldn't lick it and die...
...so this morning at the airport, we bought some chocolate frogs that were in a green wrapper that were the same size as the dead frog that pop left for us under the blanket. And voila, the joke was formed....

What a freaking long explanation....

And this is a photo of the table from BJ's dinner, it looked so nice. Inevitably though, I turned all of these napkins into crowns, because on year 11 camp, a girl taught the rest of the girls to fold napkins into crowns because she used to work in a Chinese restaurant, and we had to decorate the table that night for the guys, so we ended up making 50 or so crowns out of napkins...anyway, now whenever I see a napkin, I MUST fold it into a crown...that's just the way it is :D

AHAH long post, lot's of explanation.

So that is all for now, because all I've done today besides sit at the airport was start that assignment that I have put off for 3 months, and now I've done 682 words, and the minimum is 1000 and I've only done half, and the second half is a much broader topic, so basically I'm proud of myself and I haven't done much today. Haha...yeah

Oh yeah, and the plane eventually departed at 11.30 am...that was only a 3 hour-short delay hahah
