So I'm back from the cruise.
I was just looking at the last posts I did from my phone and I'm leaving it like that, hahah, I don't even care!
Here are some photos from the cruise, which was incredible by the way. We left from Brisbane port, spent two days at sea and our first stop was at Noumea, New Caledonia, which was a bit of a freaky place, the people didn't seem very nice, but it was still cool. The next day we went to Mare, New Caledonia. Cruise ships have only been going to Mare (pronounced mah-ray) for a few years, so it's still a reasonably new port. In Mare, there isn't much, it's a tiny island, but the people were much nicer than the Noumea folk. At Mare we caught a bus to the beach which was on a reef, so the water was beautiful and people could go snorkelling. Then we spent another day at sea before we arrived at Suva, Fiji. Me, mum and my two brothers (which is the 'we') went on the only shore tour we did on the cruise, mum and I booked it the day before and we picked a good one! We went to a tiny village about an hour away from Suva, the capital, and we went swimming under a waterfall then witnessed a Kava ceremony. It was sweet. The next day we arrived at Port Denarau, Fiji. There isn't much to Port Denarau that we saw, we went for a bus ride to all the major hotels/resorts that were really close to the port, and these hotels were amazing! We spent another day at sea after that and then we arrived in Vila, Vanuatu. Here we went duty free shopping. Duty free shopping is incredible, everything is so damn cheap, ESPECIALLY the alcohol. The day we were due to get back to Brisbane was my dads birthday, so I bought him duty free alcohol, just two bottles of different types of Turkey. You're only allowed to bring in 2.5L of alcohol, so I bought dad two 1L bottles of Turkey, and they were only $30 each! Duty free basically means no tax or anything on the prices, which is sweet. Then we spent another two days at sea to get home. I was sad to leave because it was such an amazing holiday, seriously.
Here's some photos and explanations:
First of all, these are the professional photos that we bought that were then scanned onto our computer.
So we had two formal nights on the cruise, so that's when we got our photos taken so we looked nice. Yeah.
This is me and my brothers, Benjamin and Johnny.
I bought this photo because it's freaking adorable and how often do you get photo ops like this with your brothers?
This is our disembarkation photo that we got before we even got on the boat, I actually love it!
This was the second formal night which was on Valentines Day, how romantic. Haha, and it's me, my mum and my brothers. Dad didn't come with us because he had to work so that's why we bought these photos and why I got him the duty free drinks :D I did mums hair and mine, we look sexy.
This is obviously another beautiful photo of me and my brothers.
I convinced Johnny to buy this photo because it's really nice but also he can use it as his headshot because he's finishing uni this year so he needs to go out in the work force and get jobs and this is a nice recent photo he can use.
BJ and I saw the photographer go to all this trouble to set up the little set up he was at and then he was just standing there for a while, so we felt bad for him so we went to get some crazy funny photos taken, and they were hilarious, so BJ bought this one.
This was the best one taken, so hilarious, it was the photographers idea to do this position, he really started getting into us taking stupid photos too after this. Oh yeah, we didn't have to buy the photos or anything, that's why we were like, let's go help this guy out, because there was no obligation to buy them, and they have all been retouched too and the most expensive one was like $30, so that's really good too. And by all the photos being retouched, I mean every. single. one. Which is a lot of work, and if you don't buy them by the end of the cruise, I'm pretty sure they just throw them out. What a damn waste, but they're just a bit too expensive to buy every one you were in. All these photos that we bought was spanned out over 11 days and all four of us bought them all but yeah. They're definitly work it.
One night, we were walking out of dinner on our way up to the casino to play the pokies, and on our way out the door, these bloody pirates walked up to us and were like, POSE FOR THE PHOTO, so we were just like WTF. But we did pose, and it was really random, but BJ loved this photo so he bought it. My face is freaking retarded, and if you look carefully, BJ is holding a $1 coin...get it.
And finally, one night, on the first formal night, Johnny decided before dinner that he'd go for a walk and see what was going on around the ship, and he saw this massive tower of glasses and the captain pouring champagne into it with randoms like Johnny is doing above. Turns out this night was like a really big deal because it was the captain's um-hundreth cruise or whatever, I don't know. But yeah, hundreds of people lined up to pour the champagne into the thing, and no one was waiting when Johnny got there so he was like, alright, why not. So that's why he bought this photo.
And now, some photos from my camera, I'll try to keep it to a minimum because there's already been so many photos anyway.
Enjoy:
This was the first few days on the boat
This was in Mare, New Caledonia. And I'm eating a local chicken cooked kebab, it was pretty good.
This was when we got to Noumea, New Caledonia
This was our second formal night, and BJ and I were like 'let's pick up as many cups as we can'
This is Chris and Teddy, the two greatest waiters in the world, no seriously.
There was a battle of the sexes cocktail competition, we had 5 ladies and five gents, and I was on the girls team and my brothers were on the guys team, and we had a bar tender show us the cocktail we were about to make, then we had to make it and give it to the staff dude to judge us. I went last, and the ladies won :D
This was on our day tour in Suva, Fiji, on the way to the waterfall
For Valentines day, mum bought Johnny and BJ a jet boat ride, they loved it.
This was the beach at Mare, New Caledonia, and yes, I was wearing a bikini and shorts, this is a big deal for me.
So I'll stop talking now, this was a very long post,
BYE!
