So I haven't posted in about a month, and I went to post some photos via email last night cos I can do that technology shizz and there were too many photos so it didn't work, so here is a bunch of photos that I'm going to talk about...and my burn on my leg...and the Golden Days Festival involving my new friend Chantelle.
Here are the photos in no particular order (which is annoying for me, but I just uploaded them in bulk and they're a bitch to move around):
I participated in the Swisse Color Run (emphasis on the American spelling of 'colour'). It was fun, it was a 5km walk/run/dance and every km there was a colour station, blue, orange, yellow, pink, and the finish line, then there were some radio entertainers on a stage playing music and every 15 minutes they'd throw out the packets of colours (which were coloured corn starch, which washed off so easily) and then we would all throw them up in the air and it was awesome to see! However, toward the end, they ran out of all the colours (purple included) and we ended up just throwing up yellow and orange for the last few throws...so me and my friend Stef ended up ORANGE! Here's a picture of our legs once we took our shoes and socks off, that's how damn orange we were haha.
I realise this is a screen shot but get over it. This is Stef and I after it was over haha, so orange. But believe it or not, my clothes once washed came out totally white because I soaked them before I washed them, so there's only a few orange patches in the creases of my white shorts haha.
This is a poster I made for Uni! I had to do a group assignment and we had to choose an area of the uni (we chose from pre-selected areas) and we had to add value to it to make it something new, so my group decided to do the Library Deck Are (as you can see in the centre of the picture) and we added 5 new things to it which, as we presented, we VELCROED ONTO THE POSTER! AMIRIGHT?! I was so happy with the assignment. So, the first idea you can see up in the left hand corner is an Astronomy tower, so we can add a new degree to the uni. In the right hand corner is a foot spa (they all have arrows pointing to where we planned for them to go) for stressed uni students to chill out in. In the middle on the right hand side at the edge are some sleeping pods!! Then in the bottom left hand corner is my idea to add right outside the exit of the library a slippery dip and a portable ball pit so you can 'bring out your inner child'. And finally, in the bottom right hand corner is a life sized chess board for a new social chess club with tournments and shizz. I was so damn proud of our assignment!
This is a picture of my group that did the above assignment! So for each of our own ideas, we dressed up relevant to the idea. So from left to right we have Michelle - Astronomy tower, Lenee - sleeping pods, Me - slippery dip and ball pit, Lyndsie - foot spa, and Monique - chess board.
Considering we only had TWO WEEKS to organise and present our 10 minute speech and powerpoint (the poster was a visual aid), we pulled it together and I was very proud of all of us!
This is me and my friend Kerry after a hard night of selling roses
This is me, mum and dad's friend Paula playing some early morning BINGO
This is brother 2/2, he refused to make two trips, so he's literally carrying a bag of dog food, 24 rolls of toiletpaper, handtowels, something else under his arm and two maybe three bags of groceries, it doesn't sound like much in word form, but look at the picture, he's like a packhorse. It was funny, shut up.
My dad bought himself a new blower for....belated fathers day I guess? Haha, anyway, this is the manliest way to dry your freshly washed Ducati:
Dad blow drying his Ducati
It was Halloween and I had to work at Roses, so I asked if I could buy a Halloween headband, and they said go all out...but I don't really 'do' all out, especially since Halloween isn't really a thing in Australia, so this was my last minute outfit, devil horns - $2, work dress -pre-owned, belt - pre-owned, Dracula's necklace - pre-owned, red tights with fishnets over them - old dance costume!!, and Connies - pre-owned. I was happy with it, because I was dressed up, but not too ridiculous.
Now, a little back story on those tights...like I said, they were part of an old dance costume, and what we actually did with them was....you'll never believe this --I can't believe I went out in public in them and they didn't fall to pieces-- we CUT THE CROTCH OUT of both pairs of tights and cut the feet off the red tights and stuck our fingers through the holes in the feet of the fishnets. So I put these tights on that were literally cut to pieces, the crotch holes stretched too, haha, but I pulled them up enough that I put a pair of black undies things on to hold them up and keep the holes small haha (btw, the black undies things that I wore - another part of an old dance costume), and the Converse were covering up the ratty remains of the feet of both pairs of tights. I thought it was hilarious, but you never would've guessed just by looking at it, right?! Haha YES!
Does this not explain itself? hahahaha
Sub-topics now.
First, my gnarly burn.
No picture, I don't want to gross you out or anything. So my mum got some new ape-hangers (long handle bars) on her bike, and so she got home and said she was sitting up straighter so she got more wind in her face, so dad detached the windscreen on her bike to put it higher, and I leaned over the right hand side of the bike to hold it to help him, and mum had just turned the bike off after riding it for 30 minutes, and I didn't think, and so I leant over the bike and my leg brushed up against the exhaust and burned through like three layers of skin. So now its gross and red and I'm trying to dry it out because I've had it covered for the last 3 days so that it didn't get infected while I worked at the Golden Days Festival.
Which leads me to my next topic.
Golden Days Festival + Chantelle.
So there's this music festival, as named above, and I applied to be bar staff there and I got the gig. So I was there and I started at 1pm and the festival went through until 10pm. Anyway, I got there early and I went in and the bar was on one side of the football field and the food stalls were on the other side, so I went to get some food to eat before I started, and I got a hotdog, and I didn't have any friends or anybody I knew to chill with, and so I was told that when I started my shift I would get my 'bar staff' shirt. So it was 12pm, and I got my food and I wanted somewhere to sit, and there were some marquees with chairs, and I saw a girl sitting under one with a 'bar staff' shirt on. So I figured, what the hell, I'll go sit there. So I sat down and we talked about the band that was playing (it wasn't busy at all at this time, but the bands started at 12 anyway). And we spoke for a good half hour and then I had to go get my shirt so I said goodbye and we parted ways. I got my shirt, I ate a sausage sandwich (what? they were free! and I was in for a long night of hard work) and I started my shift. A few minutes later, standing in my bar was the girl I was just sitting with (ok, she was supposed to be working at the bar on the other side of the field, but it wasn't busy, so she got sent over to our bar). I go to her 'HEY, you were on the other bar' and she was like 'YES, they sent me over here cos it wasn't busy'. And thus, A FRIENDSHIP WAS BORN. hahahaha, whatever. So I don't remember how it happened, but people started coming up to us at the bar and they'd say what they'd want and I'd take their tickets (we weren't handling cash, they had to buy tickets that were worth $2 each, and so like, a can of Jack Daniels and coke would be 4 tickets), so I'd take the tickets and the girl would run to get the drinks while I was ripping up tickets...some real solid team work. After a few hours of perfect tag teaming like this, we got a little break in the crowd and I was like, 'Anyway, I'm Anne-Maree', and she was like 'I'm Chantelle'. Ta daaaaa. We ended up working so freaking well together that next thing I know, every time there was a break in the crowd we'd start dancing together, then all of a sudden it was 9.30 and Chantelle finished her shift and went home, saying she'd add me on facebook. 10.30pm came around and the festival was over and I'd done some packing up when my shift finished and I go to check my phone - no friend request :( So I go to my supervisor 'what was her name, I forgot' and she gave me her first and last name (because we'd worked so well together all night, it didn't go unnoticed), and I searched Chantelle on facebook, but no dice. So I went home (it was a Saturday) with the intention to send an email on Monday to the person who hired us both asking if she could forward my contact details to Chantelle. Sunday morning rolls around and I'm playing on my phone when I get this friend request on facebook, IT WAS CHANTELLE. I was so happy, because I couldn't find her on facebook because she doesn't have her last name on there, she's got her first and middle name (which I'd forgotten). So luckily she remembered my name. Then a few hours later I GET THIS EMAIL FROM THE PERSON WHO HIRED US. IT WAS A FORWARDED EMAIL FROM CHANTELLE SAYING THE EXACT SAME THING I WAS GOING TO WRITE IN AN EMAIL TO BE FORWARDED TO HER. My mind was blown, and I was so happy I'd found this friend! I don't normally make friendships so strong, so quick, but I guess we HAD to get along what with the job we were working on, haha.
Holy balls, long post.
Apologies.
Me out.
PS, I promise, while I'm on my 3-4 months holidays I won't leave such a long break between posts so you don't get smashed with information like this post today.
kbye
