This is me about 3 years ago now seeing as it is 2011 now hah
Ok, so there are massive floods going on in Queensland at the moment. There was a giant random flash flood in Toowoomba yesterday and there are 10 confirmed deaths, 78 missing people and like 4 serious cases. There were floods all through the Bruce Highway today. Tonight and for the next few days, a dam in Brisbane is going to flood places that have been told to evacuate, almost 30-something suburbs, and to top it all off, Australia is donating shit all money. What the hell?
Today, at the summer school I was attending, it was only a week long, it was our second day today, everyone was sore and sorry for themselves, our principal rings up and says get all the students from full time to move all the costumes upstairs because our studios and the whole building is in high risk flood zones. This was a big feat, and it took at least 15 of us and around 45 minutes to get it done, but we did it. We missed out on our ballet lesson of the morning, so when we got back, we did one pirouette exercise when we were notified to go home because of the flooded out areas where people live. I went home with Stef because her mum works nearby. So...we caught a train that was delayed 18 minutes to Zillmere, which isn't that far from Albion, just a few stations. We get in the car with Stef's mum, we get some lunch, we jump on the Bruce Highway, because at the time it was closed southbound and one out of three lanes was open northbound. We were heading northbound. We get to Caboolture. We stop. 6 hours and 30 minutes later, we make our way home, finally. Stef and I left dancing at approximately 10.20am. I didn't walk in the door of my house until 6.45pm. HOLY MOTHER CRAP!! I am sick of cars.I am sick of rain. I am sick of hearing about the damn floods. I feel sorry for everyone affected, truly, because my area where I live has been affected slightly as well, but after hearing about it non-stop for 8 hours, I'm kind of over it. We were stranded on the Bruce Highway because the roads were flooded and we were expected to stay over night! Luckily it went down and we didn't have to, but it was heading that way. But seriously, I don't want to hear another damn thing about a stupid flood! I'm sorry if I've hurt or offended anyone, but geezussss!
Ok, moving on.
I don't think I have much to say now, my whole day today was ... eventful. And due to these events, my brain has kind of switched off heh.
Oh wellities. I'll be going now then...
WAIT! I forgot:
